Marko 93 is a seminal figure in the French street art scene who grew up in the nearby suburb of Saint-Denis. His artistic identity took shape in the late 1980s, inspired by the emerging hip-hop movement and the industrial landscape of the northern Paris suburbs. He developed a signature style he calls calligraphism, which fuses traditional graffiti lettering with the intricate, flowing aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy. This distinctive blend of urban grit and classical precision quickly set his work apart from typical aerosol art.
