The black wooden building with the bold yellow lettering on Bankastraeti has held its ground in downtown Reykjavik since eighteen ninety-two. It served as a coffee house for decades, owned by the same family from the early twentieth century until the nineties. During the eighties, this spot became the neighborhood headquarters for local hip-hop artists, graffiti writers, and skaters. It remains the oldest restaurant operating in the city, keeping its original name, Prikið, painted high above the front door.
