Sabz Burj

The Sabz Burj stands as an octagonal tomb topped with a brilliant, turquoise-tiled dome that rises above the manicured greens of the Delhi Golf Club. Built during the early Mughal period, its name translates literally to Green Tower. For centuries, the structure sat in near-total isolation until a massive restoration project recently stripped away layers of grime to reveal the original intricate floral patterns and blue tiles, which had been hidden from view since before the independence of India.
