Dargah Nizamuddin Aulia

religious

The Dargah of Nizamuddin Aulia consists of a central white marble courtyard crowded by devotees, musicians, and pilgrims. This is the tomb of the thirteenth-century Sufi saint Khwaja Nizamuddin Aulia. Seven hundred years ago, the Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq ordered the saint to leave Delhi. The saint famously replied that Delhi was still far away. When the Sultan died on his journey back to the city, the prophecy cemented the saint’s reputation. People have gathered here to seek his blessing ever since.
