Lakkar Wala Burj

historic

The Lakkar Wala Burj stands as an octagonal stone tomb within the city zoo, easily identified by its crumbling sandstone walls and a central dome that has long since lost its outer masonry. Built during the Lodi period in the sixteenth century, this structure served as a resting place for a nobleman of the royal court. A century later, a heavy storm caused the upper portion of the tomb to collapse, leaving the internal core exposed to the elements for generations to come.
