Chhote Batashewala Gumbad

The Chhote Batashewala Gumbad stands as a low, square stone structure capped by a single, weathered dome, isolated among the trees of the zoological park. It belongs to a cluster of sixteenth-century tombs built for noblemen of the Lodi or early Mughal period. Legend claims the name comes from the small, sugary batasha candies once distributed here at a local shrine. Inside, the chamber remains empty, holding only the faint, recurring scent of damp earth and the cooling shadows of Delhi.
