Sunderwala Mahal

The Sunderwala Mahal sits within the zoo grounds, its sandstone walls topped by a distinctive, high-domed roof. Built during the sixteenth century, this structure served as a tomb for an unknown nobleman from the Mughal era. It fell into ruin over the centuries until the Archaeological Survey of India stepped in to peel back layers of encroaching vegetation and restore the crumbling masonry. Today, it remains a rare, quiet architectural relic positioned right in the middle of a bustling wildlife park.
