Broken Pediment Tomb

The Broken Pediment Tomb features a triangular roof structure with a distinct gap at its peak, carved directly into the high sandstone cliff face. This tomb dates to the first century, created during the height of the Nabataean Kingdom. Wealthy merchants commissioned these elaborate facades to display their status and secure their family legacy. One master mason chiseled the stone from the top down, leaving the scaffolding holes visible, yet he left the pediment unfinished, creating a permanent break in the classic stone line.
