Palace Tomb

The Palace Tomb features four distinct columns carved directly into the cliff face, topped by an upper story that mimics the look of a Roman villa. It stands out for its sheer scale, as the facade stretches nearly fifty meters wide. While many tombs in Petra are modest, this one incorporates a complex blend of Nabataean and Hellenistic architectural styles. King Aretas the Fourth likely oversaw its construction in the first century, intending it to serve as a monument for his own dynasty.
