Churreria El Moro Centro

food drink

The blue and white decorative tiles climbing the walls mark the entrance to El Moro. Francisco Iriarte founded this spot in nineteen thirty-five after moving from Spain to Mexico City. He arrived with a churro cart, but he eventually secured this permanent space to serve his fried dough and thick hot chocolate. The family recipes remain unchanged since the shop opened. Patrons crowd the marble counters at all hours, dipping sugar-dusted sticks into steaming mugs of chocolate that still use the original iron millstones.
