The Fontaine Sabaghine features a deep, arched recess finished in intricate, green-glazed zellige tiles that contrast against the surrounding plaster walls. This fountain once served as a vital water source for the dyers who occupied this district of the Fes medina. While the water still trickles from a brass spout, the surrounding workshops have largely vanished. In the eighteen sixties, the Sultan commissioned this fountain to ensure laborers had clean water, marking a moment where public utility met refined, decorative craftsmanship.
