Henna Souk and pottery

landmark

The Henna Souk is recognizable by the giant plane tree at its center, surrounded by low, arched stalls filled with powdered antimony, rosewater, and intricately patterned ceramic bowls. This is the oldest market in the Fes Medina, established centuries ago as the dedicated trade hub for cosmetics and traditional medicine. A local legend claims that the square once served as a psychiatric hospital where healers used music and scents to soothe patients, long before the spice and pottery merchants moved in.
