Vrankrijk

other

Vrankrijk occupies a tall, narrow building on Spuistraat with a facade covered in layered, painted murals and posters that change with the seasons. It began as a squatted social center in nineteen eighty-two when activists broke into the vacant property to create a space for anti-authoritarian meetings and concerts. The city eventually sold the building to the collective under the condition that they run it as a legal community venue, keeping the interior walls painted with decades of graffiti and political slogans.
