Van Gogh Museum

museum

The Van Gogh Museum holds a jagged, diamond-shaped glass wing that cuts across the corner of the building. This structure houses the world’s largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh, kept here because his brother Theo’s wife, Jo van Gogh-Bonger, spent her life managing his estate. She cataloged his letters and canvases, ensuring his work remained intact after his death. The museum keeps the collection together, displayed exactly as his life and letters map out his desperate, productive decade of painting.
