Krasnal Konspirek (Solidarność ooh Walcząca)

The dwarf statue outside the History Center in Wrocław holds a small, tightly rolled newspaper printed with the word Solidarność. He wears a metal cloak and stands just a few inches tall near the entrance. This figure, known as Konspirek, honors the underground movement that operated secretly in the city during the nineteen eighties. Activists used the quiet corners of these streets to distribute forbidden pamphlets and plan protests against the regime, hiding their work in plain sight just like this bronze inhabitant.
