Tamka is a narrow, five-story tenement house tucked along the Oder River. Its most distinct feature is the vibrant yellow facade that clashes with the weathered brick of the nearby cathedral district. Built in the late nineteenth century, it served as a residence for river workers and laborers who relied on the water for their trade. During the nineteen ninety-seven flood, the water rose high enough to submerge the entire ground floor, leaving the residents to rebuild their lives from the mud up.
