The Vagina Museum is the world's first physical museum dedicated to gynecological anatomy, specifically focusing on the vagina, vulva, and reproductive health. Its founder, Florence Schechter, launched the project after discovering that a museum dedicated to the penis already existed in Iceland, yet no such equivalent existed for the female reproductive system anywhere in the world. She viewed this discrepancy as a significant failure in cultural and heritage representation and established the museum to combat the widespread stigma, shame, and misinformation surrounding these topics.
