The location you are approaching was once home to an ambitious and unconventional performance venue known as The Bunker. Before it became a celebrated fringe theatre, the space spent years as a derelict, disused underground car park that was frequently plagued by flooding. It sat largely abandoned beneath the nearby Menier Chocolate Factory, serving only as a dusty storage area filled with discarded furniture and tatty chairs.
