The Beefeater Gin Distillery in Kennington stands on a site that once produced something quite different than spirits. Before the gin production arrived in 1958, this building served as the Haywards Military Pickle factory. A bomb strike during the Second World War in 1944 devastated the original structure, leaving behind a site that sat unused for years before the distillery repurposed the location.
