Cleaver Square

Cleaver Square holds the title of the first residential garden square ever built south of the River Thames. When it was laid out in seventeen eighty-nine, the land was known as White Bear Field, a quiet pasture screened by trees. You can still see the connection to its rural past today, as the square retains a uniquely peaceful, village-like atmosphere despite being deep within the city.
