The Royal Mile Gallery features a distinct, narrow timber shopfront that juts slightly into the sidewalk along the Canongate. This building sits on a site where seventeenth-century tenements once housed weavers and merchants working in the heart of the Old Town. In the nineteen eighties, the gallery owner restored the facade to resemble a traditional Scottish shop, complete with small, multi-paned glass windows. Inside, the space displays contemporary photography and prints, tucked into a structure built for much older trades.
