Dean Park Mews

Dean Park Mews features a curved row of stone archways and stable doors tucked away behind the grand townhouses of Edinburgh’s New Town. These buildings served as the functional backyard for the wealthy families living on the main streets during the nineteenth century. Carriages pulled into these tight spaces, while coachmen slept in the cramped rooms directly above the horses. Today, the cobblestones are quiet, and the heavy stable doors hide modern living rooms instead of hay and harnesses.
