The Hollywood Roosevelt features a Spanish Colonial Revival facade and a twelve-story tower crowned by a distinctively tiled roof. Built in nineteen twenty-seven, it hosted the first Academy Awards ceremony in its Blossom Room. The hotel became a refuge for stars like Marilyn Monroe, who lived in a poolside cabana for two years early in her career. She often practiced her lines in front of the full-length mirror in that room, a mirror that remains part of the hotel’s collection today.
