The Hollywood Jazz mural spans the side of a building in a vibrant wash of color, dominated by a towering trumpet player and a drummer framed in electric blues and yellows. It captures the rhythm of the mid-twentieth century jazz clubs that defined the neighborhood long before the modern tourist crowds arrived. Artist Eloy Torrez painted this piece in nineteen ninety-one. He based the central trumpet player on a local musician who often performed at the clubs that once lined this boulevard.
