Hollywood Pantages Theatre

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre wears a terra cotta facade adorned with intricate gold and turquoise figures of goddesses and charioteers. Alexander Pantages built this palace in nineteen thirty as his final, grandest movie house. Just six years later, Howard Hughes purchased it and moved his personal offices into the penthouse above the stage. Hughes reportedly kept a private screening room there, watching his own films while the public enjoyed feature presentations on the massive screen below.
