The life-sized bronze statue of a Cairn Terrier sits atop a granite pedestal in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Terry, the dog who played Toto in The Wizard of Oz, is buried here. She earned a weekly salary of one hundred twenty-five dollars during the production, which was more than some of the human actors received. Her owner and trainer, Carl Spitz, buried her in his backyard in Studio City, but when the freeway construction displaced her remains in nineteen fifty-eight, she moved here.
