Highland-Camrose Bungalow Village

historic

The Highland-Camrose Bungalow Village consists of ten individual cottages clustered around a shared courtyard in the Hollywood Heights neighborhood. Built between nineteen twenty-one and nineteen twenty-seven, these homes were crafted specifically to house actors, writers, and musicians during the early years of the Hollywood film industry. When silent film star Pauline Frederick lived in one of these bungalows, she helped solidify the community as a retreat for creative professionals who wanted to live away from the crowded bustle of the valley floor.
