Seaport Village

Seaport Village is defined by a collection of weathered, clapboard buildings and red-tiled roofs that mimic a nineteenth-century maritime town. It sits on fourteen acres of what was once a working rail yard. In the late nineteen seventies, developers bypassed the usual high-rise office plan to build this cluster of shops and walkways instead. The centerpiece is an eighteen ninety-five Looff carousel, moved here in nineteen eighty-four, which still carries carved wooden horses and goats around its center pole to original band organ music.
