A National Salute to Bob Hope and the Military

landmark

The National Salute to Bob Hope and the Military features a central bronze sculpture of Bob Hope performing on a makeshift stage for service members. Surrounding him are five life-size bronze figures of sailors, soldiers, and nurses, representing different conflicts from the twentieth century. Bob Hope traveled over nine million miles to entertain troops, and this monument commemorates his lifetime of USO tours. The figures stand on a curved concrete base designed to resemble the deck of an aircraft carrier.
