The bell tower at Our Lady of the Rosary rises above the surrounding buildings, topped with a distinctively pointed, tiled cupola. Italian fishermen founded this church in nineteen twenty-five, wanting a place to practice their faith in their own language. They hired architect Antonio Beresford to build it, and he used elaborate frescoes and statues shipped directly from Italy to fill the sanctuary. The men who fished the local tuna fleet paid for the construction, naming it for the patroness of their home port.
