The Dogpatch Arts Plaza sits between two massive brick warehouses, marked by a bright yellow shipping container that functions as a small gallery space. This area served as a gritty industrial corridor for decades, supporting the shipyards and canning plants that defined the waterfront. In twenty-seventeen, local residents pushed to reclaim the dead-end street, turning a trash-strewn alleyway into a dedicated public space for art installations. It remains one of the few places in the city built directly on a former rail spur.
