San Francisco LGBT Community Center

The San Francisco LGBT Community Center at 1800 Market Street stands as a fulfillment of a goal that Harvey Milk held during his time on the Board of Supervisors. Although his original attempt to secure funding for such a space was blocked by his political rival Dan White, the dream survived for decades until a dedicated group of activists finally brought it to life.
