Gibson House Museum

The Gibson House stands out for its remarkably intact Victorian interior, complete with original family wallpaper, furniture, and personal belongings. Built in eighteen fifty-nine, it was the first house on Beacon Street to be occupied. Charles Gibson, a traveler and poet, maintained the home exactly as his ancestors lived in it for decades. He even gave tours himself before his death in nineteen fifty-four, pointing out the family letters and heavy velvet drapes that remain in their original spots today.
