North Square

North Square features a central patch of cobblestones surrounded by buildings that date back to the late eighteenth century. It served as the center of colonial Boston, acting as a marketplace and the site of the town's first public school. Most residents recognize the square today because of the Paul Revere House, a dark timber building that survived the Great Fire of sixteen seventy-six. Revere lived there while planning his ride, though he later moved his growing family to a larger home.
