Maxwell Place Park sits on a stretch of land that once defined the industrial identity of Hoboken. For over half a century, this site was home to the massive Maxwell House Coffee plant, which opened in nineteen thirty-nine and served as the city's largest employer. The facility was so sprawling that it blocked public access to the Hudson River until the plant closed in the early nineteen nineties and the land was repurposed for the residential community you see today.
