The thick adobe walls of Ventana Fine Art hold an original nineteen-thirties hand-painted mural by Olive Rush, a prominent figure in the Santa Fe art colony. Rush painted the interior walls when the building functioned as the home of the local public library. Today, the gallery space preserves those desert-themed scenes while showcasing contemporary painters. The high viga ceilings and the quiet, heavy atmosphere of the structure remain from the days when residents gathered here to read instead of to view exhibitions.
