Sena Plaza

The central courtyard of Sena Plaza is defined by a dense canopy of ancient cottonwood trees that shade a labyrinth of second-floor wooden balconies. Major Felipe Sena built this adobe compound in the mid-nineteenth century to house his family and their growing mercantile business. When the family grew too large for the original home, they expanded the structure room by room, eventually creating a closed square that served as a private social hub where travelers stayed and merchants traded goods for over a hundred years.
