IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA)

The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts occupies a former federal building with a distinctive, curved adobe facade that anchors the corner of the Santa Fe Plaza. Built in nineteen thirty-one, the structure first served as a post office. It functioned as a hub for government business until nineteen seventy-two, when the Institute of American Indian Arts acquired the site. The federal government originally mandated a specific Spanish Pueblo Revival style for the building to help define the city's architectural identity for incoming tourists.
