Santa Fe Railyard Plaza

The Santa Fe Railyard Plaza sits beneath a distinctive, oversized corrugated metal roof that covers the open space like an industrial canopy. This area served as the southern terminus for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway for over a century. When the railroad company stopped using the tracks for commercial freight in the early two thousands, the city bought the land. City crews tore up the old spurs to build this paved square, which now hosts farmers markets and regional art gatherings.
