Director Park

Director Park features a distinct, stepped granite stage that rises above the surrounding pavement, designed to mimic the seating of a classical amphitheater. This urban plaza occupies the site of a former department store parking garage. In nineteen eighty-four, the city replaced the garage with a public space named for Director Harvey Scott, who ran the Oregonian newspaper. The park floor holds a series of light poles and glass kiosks, serving as a hub for downtown office workers and street performers.
