Point State Park

Point State Park sits at the exact confluence where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers crash together to form the Ohio. The park grounds cover thirty-six acres of flat, green space defined by a towering fountain that shoots water nearly one hundred and fifty feet into the air. In the seventeen fifties, this triangular patch of land held Fort Pitt, a massive star-shaped fortification. British soldiers burned the fort to the ground as they retreated during the American Revolutionary War to keep it from the enemy.
