Chinatown Inn

The Chinatown Inn sits beneath a bright red pagoda roof that rises above the surrounding brick storefronts. It serves as the final physical remnant of Pittsburgh’s historic Chinatown, which once stretched across these blocks during the early twentieth century. When the city’s Chinese population moved toward other neighborhoods in the nineteen seventies, this family owned restaurant remained. It occupies the space where the On Leong Merchants Association once hosted meetings, and it continues to anchor the corner of Third Avenue today.
