Strawberry Way is a narrow brick alleyway cutting through the downtown blocks of Pittsburgh. It once functioned as a simple service path for delivery wagons and utility lines, hidden away from the main streets. In the nineteen-eighties, a local artist named Andrew Carnegie—no relation to the steel magnate—filled the alley with colorful, hand-painted murals to brighten the path. Today, the alley remains a pedestrian-only passage, defined by those lingering splashes of paint on the otherwise gray walls of surrounding office buildings.
