Comet Tavern

The Comet Tavern features a distinct, weathered brick facade and a worn green awning that marks the corner of Pike and Broadway. Since nineteen twenty-seven, this space operated as a tavern for laborers, later becoming a cornerstone of the Seattle grunge scene. In two thousand thirteen, the owners faced eviction and closed the doors, leading to a public outcry from regulars who feared the loss of their local history. A new owner reopened the doors, keeping the original booths and scuffed floors intact.
