The corner of Fourteenth and Madison features a distinct, boxy brick structure topped with a bold, retro sign that reads Chop Suey in bright red lettering. This building served as a car dealership in the nineteen twenties before eventually becoming a prominent music venue. It hosted underground rock bands and touring artists for over two decades. The stage remains where mechanics once worked on engines, keeping the industrial concrete floors and exposed rafters from its time as a garage.
