Neumos

The Neumos building features a distinct, rusted metal facade that stands out against the brickwork of the surrounding First Hill blocks. Originally built as an auto showroom in the early twentieth century, it spent decades housing various commercial businesses before transforming into a live music venue in the mid-nineties. During its early years as Moe Mo’s, a young, then-unknown band named Nirvana played a show that turned into a chaotic, equipment-smashing riot, leaving lasting marks on the venue’s reputation for intense, unfiltered performances.
