Redfern Park

Redfern Park is defined by the sweeping canopy of Moreton Bay fig trees that line its outer edges. In two thousand eight, the park underwent a massive redesign to restore its Victorian layout, but the central circular pathway remains the heart of the space. This was the site where Prime Minister Paul Keating delivered his speech on Indigenous reconciliation in nineteen ninety-two. He stood here to acknowledge that Europeans had dispossessed Aboriginal Australians of their land and committed atrocities against them.
