Duckboard Place is a narrow, dead-end lane defined by walls covered in layers of aerosol art, paste-ups, and tags that stretch from the pavement to the fire escapes. While most of the city’s graffiti is scrubbed away, these brick surfaces remain an evolving canvas because the building owners decided to leave the art alone. In nineteen forty-two, this alley housed a popular underground swing club called the Panama Club, where American soldiers and locals danced during the tense early years of the war.
