Melbourne Skydeck

viewpoint

The Melbourne Skydeck occupies the top ten floors of the Eureka Tower, a jagged shard of blue glass and white stripes that pierces the skyline of Southbank. When the tower opened in two thousand six, its gold-plated crown was designed to represent the gold rush of the nineteenth century. Architect Nonda Katsalidis insisted on the glass floor cubes that extend out from the building. Visitors step inside these boxes to hover nearly three hundred meters above the city streets.
