A bright yellow facade marks the entrance to Sorriso da Dadá in the Pelourinho district. Dadá started by selling acarajé from a small basket on the street, earning enough to open this restaurant that specializes in traditional Bahian moqueca. She once fed the singer Michael Jackson during his famous visit to Salvador, serving him a bowl of her signature seafood stew right in her kitchen. The walls here remain covered in framed photographs of the local celebrities and international stars who have pulled up a chair.
